SNFCC – Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center – is the new metropolitan park of Athens, made by famous architect Renzo Piano. It is something a cosmopolitan city must have: a big beautiful park where concerts and cultural events can take place but also a park where people can spend their time there by enjoying a coffee or a glass of wine overlooking the canal.
If you are in Athens with family, SNFCC also has a playground for the entertainment of your children. Sometimes they also organize yoga classes for free and different kind of seminars for every taste, or you can also use the chance to go rowing inside its famous canal! You can check their facebook page for more info about their activities and events!
Located in the south part of the city, at the end of Syggrou Avenue close to the coastline and only 15 minutes drive from the center, it’s the ideal place if you want a break from the city center.
The National Opera and National Library is also placed inside the park!
PS: Please note that there are two entrances is at Evripidou Street next to the pin of the map – where its official address is.
