SNFCC – Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center – is the metropolitan park of Athens, made by famous architect Renzo Piano. It is something every cosmopolitan city must have: a big beautiful park where concerts and cultural events can take place but also a park where people can spend their time by enjoying a coffee or a glass of wine overlooking the canal.
Located in the south part of the city, at the end of Syggrou Avenue close to the coastline and only 15 minutes drive from the center, it’s the ideal place if you want a break from the city center. There are also shuttle buses that can take you there for free, starting from Syntagma Sq.
The National Opera and National Library are placed at SNFCC. If you want to visit the National Library you should book a place in advance due to covid restrictions!
SNFCC is also friendly for families with kids, as there is lot of space where they can play football and run and enjoy the chilling atmosphere of the park. And also at SNFCC you can also have yoga, pilates and tai chi classes for free but you also have to book a place in advance!
PS: Please note that there are two entrances. One is at Evripidou Street next to the pin of the map, where its official address is.
