When you arrive at the door, the only thing you will see is a bell. Nothing else. Ring the bell and the door will open. Now you can enter into the world of New York’s Prohibition era. A black & white hallway leads you to the main space of the bar.

Low lighting, Jazz music and an imposing bar compose a scene from an old era. Giannis at the bar will make you special gin cocktails in his old fashioned way. One of my favorites is the Moscow Mule with vodka, lime and herbs which is served in a metal Moscow Mule mug. Of course the bar does not operate as an elitist bar. It’s open for everyone who can find it. The only occasion when you might not be able to get in, is when it is full. The music volume is suitable for conversation without having to speak loud. It’s also suitable for dates.

Look for Speakeasy bar when you come to Athens and you will have a great night. However, don’t talk about it to anyone…
