Grammes (popularly known as Kyr Ilias or To Steki tou Ilia after the guy that owns the place) is what we call a traditional Greek tavern. Traditional in the sense that the menu is limited but really familiar- it's basically what a Greek mom would cook at home: some salads, simple meat (specialising in lamb chops), fried potatoes, some typical Greek stuff (yes I mean the tzatziki) and so on.
These simple choices combined with nice wine and the good food quality make it a great choice when I am too tired or too lazy to cook. Kyr Ilias has a nice, simple interior area- something very reminiscent of the old Athenian taverns- but also some tables outside on the pedestrian street, right by the train tracks.
Grammes is located all the way down Thisseion station and it is an ideal choice after a long tiring walk downtown.
