After months of seeing this place on Instagram - and yes, Instagram is one of my sources for finding out about must-try places - I finally visited Singing Mama. The concept is very nice; it's a fusion of Lebanese and International cuisine, a restaurant and bar, and sometimes, the owner comes out and puts on a singing show! More recently, they've been hosting live shows, including blues or jazz bands and a DJ on Thursdays! But the owner, or Mama, still makes an appearance to sing every now and then.
The interior is very warm and lovely, with flowery wallpapers, colorful furniture, and a big oven. The contrast of colors between the red chairs and the floral print on the walls gives a refreshing feel, something we don't see a lot in the restaurants and bars in Mar Mikhael. The bartender and the rest of the staff are super friendly, so be sure to ask them for whatever you want, and they'll be sure to oblige! Singing Mama has a variety of food items and drinks, including some not-to-be-missed signature cocktails. I've tried some of their appetizers, and I have my eye on trying the pizza after seeing their gorgeous oven next!
They also have a happy hour from 5 om till 8 pm every day, but if you want to catch the place when it's most alive, then it's best to visit on weekend at night - or at least that's what was recommended to us!
