Ever heard of Berlin Christmas markets? There are other cities in Germany (e.g. Nürnberg and Dresden) that are more famous for their outdoor markets, which have mulled wine and wintery snacks. Pro tip: Search by date to discover even the smallest markets that are only open for a day or two; for example, my ultimate favorite Alt-Rixdorfer Weihnachtsmarkt (that you see in the picture) always happens the second weekend of December.
