Berlin is known to be a city that likes to stay a bit edgy, non-conformist and if necessary: slightly rude. When I took the tour in the Feuerle collection and the guide told me that I could ask questions about the art works but that it was possible he would not answer, I was taken aback. Was he simple hung-over and not in the mood to talk, or was I encountering a new concept of art education? The latter was the case. If you visit the private collection of Desiré Feuerle, arm yourself with openness and curiosity. The reward is an unforgettable experience that will give you the chills.
Without wanting to give away too much (photos are of course strictly forbidden): The collections brings together art forms that could not be more different from each other. The illumination of the exhibition spaces underground, in a former bunker, is a feast for the eyes already. Visitors under 16 years are not allowed and I would also not recommend the visit to someone who is easily scared in the dark. Everyone else: Be ready to book your tour a few weeks in advance and preferably bring someone along so that afterwards you can talk about what you just experienced.

One word to describe Macondo? Bustling! It's not the place if you need a quiet space to work, but it's nice if you want to have it all: work, play, wine, and coffee.

I suggest stopping by the Berlin Art Market by the Zeughaus to pick up a locally created art piece. Since the market is located in the center of Museum Island it's easy to reach.
