I found this little gem of a cafe on my birthday this year. My boyfriend and I were planning out our day, we were hoping to hit up an open house that some art galleries were having in Somerville. Looking for food in the area, we stumbled upon a cute name for a cafe on Google Maps, 3 Little Figs. What the heck, we thought, let’s try it.

Nestled away among the classic Somerville architecture, triple decker homes and wood slat siding, this cafe offers scrumptious breakfast and lunch food in a well lit, sleek space. The inside of the cafe is small, like, tiny, and on the weekends gets a little busy. But with some patience, we were able to snag a table and have a lovely meal.

I ordered a cappuccino because, well, I always have to judge a cafe by its coffee. 3 Little Figs delivered. The coffee was nutty and rich, made expertly, with the perfect amount of foam on top of my drink, even though I ordered it with soy milk. That’s no easy task.

For a meal, I got a superfood bowl. Turmeric quinoa and greens with a perfectly made poached egg on top. A little hot sauce and I was in heaven. I love a good healthy brunch from time to time, and this place delivers. They even do green juices and smoothies!
