We may be inching ever closer to winter, but, in my opinion, it's never too cold for ice cream. White Mountain Creamery sits just a few steps away from the Boston College T stop, its cheery yellow-and-green storefront housing a large selection of ice creams, hard and soft yogurts, and sherbets. On top of the traditional flavors, this little family business also offers a rotating menu of more than forty specials, including some innovative treats for your taste buds like Blueberry Cheesecake, Honey Maple Grapenut, Fluff’nutter, and Charles River Mud. If their "Cookie Monster" flavor happens to be in rotation, do yourself a flavor and buy a pint for the road, because that stuff is sweet, chocolate-swirled ambrosia of the gods.
White Mountain Creamery is open till 12 AM every night, so their friendly staff is almost always available to fill the ice-cream-cone-shaped hole in your heart on a chilly fall evening. An added bonus - the cozy interior of their shop constantly smells like warm waffle cones! Talk about sweet, sweet perfection.
