Planning a dinner out with friends is not an easy job. Some might not like the raw fish that comes with the Japanese option; some might not be into the spiciness of Mexican or Indian food. The safest option? Thai cuisine. The best option? Sao Thai Cuisine.

Hidden in the streets of Chatelaine, Sao Thai Cuisine is a fine Thai restaurant that will give you a taste of the Thai tradition. Sao is the name of the Chef, and together with her team, through the offer of an exquisite selection of Thai dishes all balanced between tradition and flavor, they aim at making you discover the richness of Thai culture. When I come to Sao Thai with my friends, we order a couple of plates of the “Assiette Sao”, which includes an assortment of 6 different warm starters. If a fan of traditional Thai dishes, then Pad Thai is what will make you happy. However, whenever I come here, I try to experiment with different dishes.

My favorites are the Yam neua, a beef salad with fresh mint, lime, and a spicy sauce, the prawns with coconut sauce and curry or Khung pad pon, and Pla sam rot, a bass filet that comes with a bittersweet sauce. And how about a fresh dessert to round off your meal? Then, don’t miss the sorbet à l’ancienne, which comes in different flavors, including a coco one that will transport you to a beach in Thailand. Are you ready to go?
