Near Cișmigiu Garden, in central Bucharest, you can find a really special coffee shop, called Beans & Dots. The building that hosts this spot used to be the editorial office of the newspaper Universul during the first part of the 20th century. Today, Beans & Dots brings together students, freelancers, artists and people from the neighborhood, all looking for a good cup of coffee, some fresh snacks and a nice talk.
I love having my lazy morning coffee here on weekends and then paying a little visit to Humanitas Cișmigiu bookstore, which is nearby. Universul Palace also hosts a theater, two bars, some artistic studios and an advertising agency – all these places give a creative vibe to the building.
During summer, they have a different menu with delicious cold brews, and they open the terrace. No matter what season it is, I recommend this place if you are looking for tasty coffee and an urban-industrial place with a contemporary atmosphere.
Beans & Dots 2 can be found at One Herăstrău Plaza, Sos. Pipera 4, where you can have breakfast and coffee all day long. And recently Beans & Dots 3 has been launched at MARe – Museum of Recent Art.
