A place in the center of Bucharest that takes pride in being THE most traditional taqueria around and has the products to prove it. The owner spent plenty of time in Mexico to learn the craft from a Mexican chef, and this reflects in the most authentic taco shells I've tasted in Romania - paper thin and with real corn flavor.
Everything here is done taqueria style: the posters and ornaments all over give you the Mexico vibe, there are 5-6 small tables inside, but everything you order is served in less than 5 minutes, and you're gonna eat it even faster... And that is how it's meant to be! Their most prized possession is the "Taco al pastor" (which we liked best as well - we ordered one more round of these), but they also have some special tacos we haven't seen in other places: beef tongue taco, cactus (nopales) and even a vegan version with soy.
If you're in for a challenge ask them for the special Habanero homemade sauce. They make this from Romanian-grown Habanero peppers with quite a kick... It is not for the faint of heart. The menu has some traditional drinks, I'd recommend the Margarita with curacao. Also, the owner is quite talkative, especially if you ask about Mexican cooking and traditions.
"Mystic Tree" Bucharest is one of my favorite spots. I simply go here for one of the soups they have - The Garlic Soup. It is very cheap. And amazing.

The name B.A.R is an acronym for “almost Romanian kitchen” which hints that, here, you’re gonna eat reinterpretations or adaptations of Romanian dishes.
