In my endless search for breakfast places, we found this gem one Sunday (lucky, because they offer breakfast only Saturday and Sunday). Their menu is something we haven’t seen before (at least in Romania): you get to pick 3, 5 or 7 dishes - depending on what pricing you choose, and then you mark those with a crayon out of their list… This sent us right into our childhood for a couple of minutes.
The name B.A.R is an acronym for “almost Romanian kitchen” which hints that, here, you’re gonna eat reinterpretations or adaptations of Romanian dishes (but not exclusively) as seen in the eyes of Chef Alex Petricean (ex. Masterchef competitor and Gault & Millau best chef of 2018).
Everything on the menu is appealing so choosing stuff might be troublesome. I can recommend: Granola with oats, apples, burduf cheese cream, and Greek yogurt / cream cheese with baked beetroot and horseradish sour cream / cold semolina porridge with white chocolate and pears... But as you can see there's nothing on the menu not worth trying.
If not for the food, go (and take your friends) for the atmosphere. Romanian traditional masks and art pieces all over the walls, Romanian country-style pieces of furniture, and good music!
