Cairo is filled to the brim with shawarma varieties (Egyptian, Syrian, Turkish... etc) I’ve had them all, and I can definitely say Abu Haidar’s shawarma is without a doubt the best shawarma in Cairo.
Just by walking down the street and getting a whiff of the magnificent aroma I can’t help but wait in line for five of their shawarma buns (they’re like sliders) they also have shawarma in pita bread and also in petits pains. The place is always busy and there’s always a line, that’s how loved they are, and despite the crowd they are quick and the service is good. Their food is always fresh, but they don’t only offer food they also offer delicious fresh juices, I love their famous fresh mango juice.
Abu Haidar is also one of the oldest fast food places in Heliopolis and yet I can say the food is as good now as it has ever been, it’s always been a great place for quick shawarma stop with great quality and great prices.
