""Sameh Wust ElBallad" in Cairo is a small sandwich kiosk that has made a big statement & has left a big impact. Here sandwiches are named after customers!"

When did it begin? Back in 2011. Sameh, a guy with a wooden board, his mobile kitchen utensils, and a few ingredients, decided to make sandwiches for young adults around Downtown for a very low cost and very high quality. The sandwiches vary from a simple cheese spread to fried eggs and minced beef.

Located in Huda Shaarway street, he made a statement: not only by how small his kiosk is and how big of an impact he has left, but also by making the sandwiches customizable to the extent that he waited for years until he figured out what to name every item on the menu.

Repetitive orders and returning customers inspired Sameh to name sandwiches after the customers, who eventually became his friends. So don't be amazed if you find an item on the menu called "Soliman": it is what the real Soliman ordered so many times that he earned getting his name up on the menu.

Some of the items on the menu include the "Karim Alaa", "Bassem Yousri", "Ashraf", "Eezo"; however my personal favorite there is the "Beid Belal", which means Belal's eggs. The components of the sandwich -fried eggs, cheddar, olives and black pepper- are not only why my taste buds fell in love with it, but also the fact that I know the person it is named after.
