Zawya Cinema Cairo
A quiet corner for movie lovers
There are too many ways that you can discover the night life of Cairo. One of the best ways to do this is going to Zawya cinema to have a nice movie night. Going to it will be easy, with its perfect place in Emad El-Deen street in downtown Cairo, just about a five-minute walking distance from one of the most crowded places in the capital: Ramses square.
What makes this cinema special is the good use of the name Zawya, which means corner in Arabic, and which was mainly founded by using halls in other cinemas to show different movies. It is obvious that Zawya focuses in supporting artistic tastes by offering a wide range of non-commercial movies, whether in Arabic, English or any other language. Now, it has a cozy place in cinema Karim, which is considered one of the historical cinemas in Egypt, and this gives it an added advantage.
Throughout the year, you will find many film festivals taking place in Zawya, such as the European panorama film festival, the Ibero-American Film week, the short films week and The Oscars week. Moreover, you can find many films translated into more than one language in order to help non-Arabic speakers who go there.
It will be very nice waiting for your movie with your friends while enjoying some drinks in Zawya's bar and gazing at the movie posters around you.
