Every Saturday of the week, Egyptians gather in a downtown spot notorious for its open market selling antiques and all things vintage known as “souq Al sabbat” or “Diana market” (due to being located by Cinema Diana).
The market has an assortment of watches, glasses, furniture, stamps, picture frames, analog cameras, and everything that sparks memories from the olden days. Even if you have no intention to buy, you can always sell your unused items like watches or radios, or you can simply take pictures and enjoy the views of the antiques neatly displayed on the floor, tables, and cars.
I personally love to shop for vintage watches which sell for a fraction of their original price, and you can always haggle if you feel the price is not fair (probably best to haggle with street vendors). And when you’re done you can sit down in one of downtown’s old coffee shops to complete your old-times experience!
