Nothing tastes better than a cold, refreshing treat from Annette’s walk-up window in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. This cash-only quick counter-order shop offers an array of Italian ice, ice cream and smoothie flavor concoctions.

Every time I visit this quick sweet shop, I try a new flavor, deciding only when I make my way to the front of the line and get up to the window. Since the Italian ice I choose is always delicious, every flavor I try becomes my new favorite. For first-timers, the classic Italian ice staple flavors of lemon, strawberry and grape are always a safe choice; however, I tend to go for the unique flavors and have gotten hooked on the Black Cherry, Honeydew and Passion Fruit Italian ice treats.

No matter the flavor, the Italian ice scooped out at this local quick-stop shop is the perfect refreshing treat to satisfy any and all sweet cravings.
