This award-winning cocktail bar is located amidst the busy commotion of the city; however, The Broken Shaker is one of the city’s best-kept hidden gems. Nestled deep within the Freehand Hotel, The Broken Shaker is the perfect intimate spot to enjoy the diverse tastes and flavors of the city. This hidden treasure is tucked away under a cave-like brick arch at the back of the hotel’s lounge area, making for a perfect getaway spot to enjoy craft cocktails and quality food.
Each unique drink served at The Broken Shaker offers the perfect blend of classy, sophistication and vibrant, eccentric flavor. Take, for instance, the Broken Shaker Hit “Charea Motion for Me”. The cocktail ($ 13) comes out smoking (literally, there is a lit incense stick placed in the drink) and offers a blend of vodka and aloe vera liquor shaken with a mix of citrus garnishes.
As for the food, my favorite appetizer is the Naanchos ($ 12), which are piled high with baked naan, veggie chili, house queso, whipped yogurt and shallots, creating a mosaic color culinary masterpiece. The nachos are joined by an array of other street-food inspired menu items, bringing the city’s spunky flavor inside this secluded spot.
