I was invited to spend a night with my second family recently. My college roommate's family was visiting from California, and they wanted to indulge in traditional Irish food and music at Mrs. Murphy's Irish Sons.
Located in a neighborhood filled with local establishments, there is always a crowd to enjoy a night with, but not too crowded that you can't hear your friends and family. For dinner, the sausage roll and smoked fish dip got a lot of positive praise at our table. For my main dish, I opted for the fish and chips which was the best fish and chips I had had in years. The rest of my dining mates opted for the beef and Guinness stew and they were speechless around their experience with the stew.
After dinner, we transitioned into the bar area and enjoyed the music of Mulligan's Stew. They played traditional Irish songs and classic singalongs. In addition to their great food and music, they have a happy hour that rivals any other: Tuesday- Friday 5-7 pm you can get $1 oysters, $4 pints of Guinness and $4 glasses of Prosecco.
