Oliang captivated me as soon as I stepped in, with a warm and welcoming plant-based interior and semi-open-viewing kitchen behind a glass. In addition to the friendly service, the food was outstanding.
Our server recommended the coconut shrimp to start, which was surprisingly incredible. Normally, I do not like deep-friend things, but the shrimp was light and tasty!
For my main dish, I tried Olian's "special" panang noodles: stir-fried with ground peanuts and bell peppers in a curry sauce. Each flavor was individually purposeful to make the entire dish extremely well-made and high-quality tasting. We concluded our meal with Kanom tuay: Thai coconut milk custard that was surprisingly warm and absolutely incredible.
Oliang is a new addition to the Lincoln Park community, but it is nothing short of spectacular. Although there are already two other Thai restaurants in the same vicinity, Oliang stands out in the care they give to each dish and each customer.
