Every year, thousands of people visit Valea Morilor City Lake as one of the main attractions in Chisinau. It is definitely a nice spot and an absolutely relaxing area, but not so many of them even know about the Moldovan Expositional Center, often called ”MoldExpo”, right next to that park.
This center consists of several huge pavilions where different events take place several times each month, but ”MoldExpo” is not only about expositions, it is also about a very interesting green area.
Perhaps the biggest attraction here is the statue of Lenin. Yes, the one that used to be in front of the Moldovan Government for 30 years during soviet times. Many people believe, even locals, that with the fall of the Soviet Union, the Lenin statue was taken down, but it is not true, the monument is still standing under the trees of the MoldExpo area. In different corners of the complex, you can still see different statues and buildings, small and big, soviet and modern.
Eventually, if you are tired of the noise of the city (even if you can't call Chisinau noisy), you should come to MoldExpo, have a seat next to Lenin and plan to visit the next spots in an absolutely quiet and calm atmosphere.
