People in Chisinau really love coffee. You will notice it whenever you come, but mainly locals prefer having “take-away” cups bought from outdoor vendors. But still, there are a few places where “third wave of coffee” can be felt, and the best one is Poetry.
This café is located on a quiet side street of the city center and positions itself as a cozy place offering top quality coffee. Here you can have not only some classics like espresso, but also cold-brew, chemex or pour-over. Also, you can have any milk-coffee beverage made with rice or almond milk. As for the coffee itself, at Poetry they use different blends of Austrian Julius Meinl coffee.
The desserts are another thing that needs to be mentioned, as all of them are really remarkable. Their cheesecakes, brownies and tarts are really pieces of culinary art and are really impossible to resist. And poetry isn't just in their name -- once a year you can pay for your coffee with a recital of your favorite poem!
I recommend taking a seat in front of the panoramic windows; it's the ultimate place to feel cozy on a gloomy day.
