Dublin is a port city with ships coming and going at the mouth of the river Liffey, but if you have some spare time and you're willing to travel a little bit outside of the city centre, there is beautiful Sandymount Beach, where you can relax and rest your eyes on a very unique view. Depending on what time of the day or indeed the month you find yourself on the beach, it can be full of water, or you can walk for hours towards the sea with your shoes perfectly dry. Be careful though - when the tide changes it can be very quick and then you won't have much choice but to walk in the water. It's all worth it though.
The beach is quite long so it's perfect for a relaxing stroll along the seafront, but can also be your workout spot with the 12 outdoor workout stations provided. When the weather is nice, you will find many families picnicking here, yoga masters practicing and the general good vibe of an active beach. Bring your own snacks though, because the nearest shop is quite far.
The cherry on the cake is a very seldom occasion of fire events that are not exactly official, but you can check the next event at the community FB page: it's a group of fire dancers who come here to give the show to those willing to watch. It usually happens in the evenings, maybe once a month, and frankly, it is absolutely special.
