Plant-based or not, if you love donuts, you HAVE to take a trip to Considerat!
Once a regular at Edinburgh’s popular vegan food festivals, this local donut business became so popular that they set up shop on the corner of The Meadows large public park.
Vegan baking often comes with the reputation of being too dry/soggy/dense, but Considerat’s enormous donuts are so tasty that I’ve often ‘accidentally forgotten’ to tell people they’re dairy-free (and nobody’s ever noticed until I’ve highlighted it).
To keep things interesting, the shop switches up their flavours every week, often creating tasty seasonal options around days like Halloween, Easter, Christmas, etc. Regular favourites include their Chocolate Oreo donut, Maple Pecan donut, and Smores donut (although I personally prefer the fruity ones with cream). And, they’re all handmade on a daily basis to make sure they’re super fresh.
As well as donuts, Considerat also sells fresh barista coffee, vegan cream eggs and plant-based milkshakes. I love to grab a donut and a coffee on Saturday morning and then make my way over to the park to sit and enjoy them on a bench.
