Do you want to taste a bit of Tuscan landscape without leaving Florence? Yes, you can! You have to wear comfortable shoes and walk up to piazzale Michelangelo, enjoy the view of Florence, then cross the church San Miniato al Monte and find via della Torre del Gallo. Follow the street up to the top of the hill, watch the wonderful castle Torre del Gallo and turn left... if you feel tired out from the long walk, look at your right and relax enjoying the amazing view from the back side of the hill. You have arrived!
If you need some rest, you can stop at Trattoria Omero for a meal and then walk back down from the stone-paved street through via del Pian dei Giullari all the way to Villa di Poggio Imperiale. It sounds like a messy walk, but when you are there, finding the way is natural, trust me!
