Caffè del Verone is the cafeteria on the top of the Istituto degli Innocenti museum in piazza Santissima Annunziata.
"Verone" means balcony. This was the place where they would hang the clothes back when the Istituto was still a orphanage.
I suggest you visit the museum, get inside its cafè and then enjoy the view over the red Florentine roofs and the hills, and imagine touching the Duomo that seems so tiny from there! If you look down, you can even see the "cortile delle donne" (women's yard). I prefer going there during the day, but there is a special kind of atmosphere event at night, watching the amazing sights around the Synagogue's cupola. I still remember my emotions the first time I discovered this place and its history.
The Cafè del Verone itself is a nice place to have a rest and feel the powerful feeling that comes through the history of the Istituto degli Innocenti. It left me breathless!
