Serre Torrigiani is a private garden that hosts a bar and a bistrot. The garden is part of the estate of one of the oldest aristocratic families of Florence, the Torrigiani. Indeed, the Torrigiani family still lives in the villa inside the garden and manages the bistrot.
The atmosphere inside the garden is hard to explain. The first thing you see entering is the Italian garden made of colorful flowers and green hedges perfectly cut with the typical Tuscan villa on your left (yes, there's also a lemon tree in a vase!). It could be enough for you to gratify your glance, but I have to admit, the greenhouse part has something special too. It's in this part of the garden that Vanni Torrigiani Malaspina set the bistrot while the bar is behind the greenhouse.
The atmosphere is amazing, drinking a glass of wine under the trees is really relaxing. The people who work there are the kindest I ever met in Florence (yes, they fill my cup with chips several times!).
Try the iron seesaw that is part of the iron structure that frames the bar side.
I suggest you visit this wonderful place at lunchtime or even in the afternoon so you meet very few people and you have the feeling that that garden is all for yourself.
