Are in the mood for a tuna tartare, or a good fried squid platter? Just a 5-minute walk or 2 minute bike ride (with the new bike sharing) from the center, you can reach one of the most traditional fish restaurants in Florence. Trattoria Vittoria has been around for more than 30 years and has seen different generations pass through. Good fish restaurants are not easy to find in town, because we are not close to the Tuscan coast, but here you can find great quality and the feeling you never left the '80s.
It is really hidden: there is just a sign outside and at the entrance there is the typical fish platters on ice to show you how fresh it all is. Here they change crudités every day, I always get a fish tartare to start off and then choose between a fried squid, an oven baked fish platter or a fresh pasta, and till now I have never been let down.
The service is formal but nice - they bring appetizers when you sit down and a glass of prosecco to start off. The wine list is interesting; I am starting to prefer a good Francia Corta or a champagne for a fish-based dinner, but they have more then 150 wines to choose from.
