This is a bar in one of the oldest houses in Hamburg. It is part of the "Gängeviertel" nearby the city center and is a unique place for people who like alternative, artsy culture.
When I stumbled in with my friends after an Amanda Palmer concert in the nearby Laeisz Halle (concert hall), we were warmly welcomed by the very friendly staff who had kept the bar still open "just because...", which means that they basically do what they like and don't take opening hours too seriously. For you, this would mean: if you are nearby, check it out. It can be open long after official hours and this depends on the mood of the people who live and work in the "Gängeviertel", a community-based project of (mostly artsy) people who saved this beautiful area from destruction and now organized themselves into a cooperation.
The area is so central that the city and investors could make a fortune with selling but it is no longer available on the free market. So, if you come here you will feel the open vibe and you can even sit on the ceiling, as I did when I took the picture.
The price for drinks is based on what you can pay. Just make sure to be honest and kind when paying.
