I just love these first warm, sunny days in spring, when you can dig out your summer clothes from the basement and wear sandals for the first time..what I enjoy most during these days is the entire atmosphere. All of a sudden, everyone is smiling, laughing, the entire city is full of people, the smell of barbecue...it feels just like vacation.
One of my favorite spots to hang out outside and enjoy the sunny breeze is the Haynspark, a cute little park in the center of Eppendorf. It is really idyllic with its cherry blossom trees, the surrounding Alster, the carefully planted flower beds and the little bridge between the two lawns. It is usually not too crowded and you can see people picnicking, barbecuing, playing frisbee or slacklining and simply relaxing in the sun. You might even get a little visit from the ducks and geese that live in the park as well.
For kids, there is a playground and a wading pool. In case you want some more action, you can rent a boat at one of the boat houses right around the park or just grab a beer at one of the cafés. So just bring a blanket, some food and a good wine and enjoy the atmosphere and the sun.
