I enjoy the little things in life and love one-of-a-kind products. I also like my former neighbourhood: Altona.
There's a very small store there full of hand-made gems for every pocket. It is the hot spot of several women who have turned their work into a shop and sell self-created items -- from postcards to mufflers, from pencil cases to purses. All hand-made in Hamburg. All reasonably priced. All sold with a smile by one of the women who share the shifts in their small shop.
The place is very charming and if you are looking for a gift for your friends at home or wanna treat yourself with a unique item from Hamburg, I highly recommend going. Sometimes they even have a sale or a special day where the crochet specialist explains patterns -- or you can participate in a wonderful lottery.
In any case: big smiles are for free here. And I am sure you'll leave with one.
