In our park in the city center called "Planten un Blomen" (translates into plants and flowers) you can relax in nature. But what to do if you get hungry while sitting in the shade? Or if you long for a beer?! The solution is nearby: Rosenhof.
They have everything in store for basic needs like fries, cake, ice-cream and drinks of all sorts. It is a little like a Bavarian beer garden during summertime. But instead of Weißwurst (white Bavarian sausage), you can have a Curry Wurst (curry sausage) and instead of Weißbier (wheat beer) you'll get a Pils. Hamburg style.
As a dancer, I come here at least twice a year, since nearby the park has an open concert venue with free concerts on Sunday afternoons during the summertime. My friends play there and have a break in between sets, so I can reach out for fries and beer.
The food is very basic, but I love the fries. And everything can be ordered "to go". Apart from Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays, they even offer student prices if you can show them your student ID. From April to August they're open from 10:00 - 22:00 and from September till Oct. 15th till 21:00.
