Lodowa Huta is located at the centre of Nowa Huta and that is also its namesake. Nowa Huta is a suburb of Krakow and it only became part of the city in 1989. Nowadays, you can easily visit by bus or tram since it will only take you 30 minutes to get there.
I always like to visit Lodowa Huta for ice cream on warm summer afternoons when the temperature calls for something chilly. This is my favourite ice-cream shop because everything is prepared on the premises using fully natural ingredients. The flavours are always displayed on a blackboard and on the window right next to the door.
Their most famous flavour is raspberry meringue and it also happens to be on the top of my list too. Chocolate and cream are also their all-time classics but everything else changes daily. Every time I want to visit, I make sure to check out their Facebook page and look out for "Kinder Surprise" and "Walnut with maple syrup".
If you are ever in Huta you must try the best local ice cream shop!
