Once a mainly industrial district, Zabłocie is now one of the hottest parts of Kraków. I wouldn’t lie if I said there are new places opening there several times a month. I was super excited when I found out there is a new speciality coffee place on the block. And yes, I was excited for a reason!
The interior of Kawa Romanowicza was designed by the owner of Body Espresso Bar. If you tell this to a Kraków local, they’ll know what to expect: a beautiful distinctive space, with the right choice of pastel colors and some lastriko (terrazzo) to top it all off. The founders of this cafe are running a coffee business, selling the best beans from top European roasteries (think The Underdog, Gardelli, and other big names) and beautiful coffeeware. All of these goodies are available to purchase at the cafe.
The coffee’s top-notch, but there’s more. Kawa Romanowicza has one of the most interesting breakfast offers in town. My personal top three includes oatmeal with caramelized banana (a game-changing detail), the Danish plate with soft-boiled eggs, and congee – a heartwarming Asian option you won’t find anywhere else in Kraków. When the evening comes, they start serving a selection of natural wines.
