While delis are not really my thing, there is something about the De Beauvoir Deli that keeps me coming back. Nestled on a laid-back yet lively residential street, it is a perfect spot to grab a freshly made sandwich and a cappuccino and watch the world go by.
The De Beauvoir Deli has been part of the neighbourhood for 15 years, well before the recent surge of delis popping up on every corner. You will always find locals doing their grocery shopping or picking up a coffee and a bun in the morning on their way to work.
For those willing to splurge a little, De Beauvoir Deli offers an impressive selection of antipasti, artisan cheeses and charcuterie and sourdough loaves sourced from Dusty Knuckles, alongside deli staples like nut butters, wines, and ready meals from small independent producers. Though primarily focused on takeaway, it has a few tables outside for those who want to sit down and enjoy a quick bite.
They also run a coffee shop across the street serving a seasonal all-day brunch menu featuring ingredients from the deli, while if you are heading to the park, their chef can prepare luxury picnic boxes upon request. Whether you want a funky salad box for lunch, a comforting soup to take home in the evening or a buttery croissant to pair with your coffee, the De Beauvoir Deli is cooking up something for you.
