Iceland may be known for steamy geysers, volcanic eruptions and eccentric musicians, but it can also produce a pretty juicy burger. Bjork herself may even approve.
Stepping into Tommi's Burger Joint on Marylebone High Street, you can be forgiven thinking you've entered an eating establishment that is part honky-tonk and part American university bar. The walls are full of classic movie posters and the music is always pumping.
The real draw however is the burgers - no defrosted burger patties here! Each bite into a Tommi's burger releases 1,000 signals to your brain's inner carnivore. Once you add a side of fries, you can forget about any diet. Don't kid yourself about ordering a diet soda!
Along with the friendly staff, Tommi's has some nice touches unseen in many other restaurants in Marylebone. You are encouraged to help yourself to free condiments to dress your burger (the pickles are definitely not from a store-bought jar). Plus you are invited to treat yourself to coffee (again free for burger munchers).
For just over a tenner you can satisfy your inner hungry Viking - not bad for a trendy neighborhood known for pricier meals!
