Sam First is where you want to go to catch some of the best jazz musicians in town. The calendar varies a lot from bass to trumpet players and singers. So probably you’ll be able to choose when to attend depending on your music taste and preferences.
The place is designed in such way that you’ll feel probably feel some sort of intimacy between the performer and you. The “stage” is at the same level as the furniture in a way that creates coziness and will evoke a very romantic kind of jazzy mood.
There’s also a little menu available which contains some coffee and tea options, as well as some appetizers you can have together with a glass of wine. I’m more of a coffee person but I could always recommend the Cabernet Sauvignon.
The bar happens to be located VERY near the airport (LAX). You might want to keep the traffic in mind if you’re staying far from there.
The man responsible for booking bands is a bass player himself, so there's no doubt why the music is so amazingly well picked at Sam First.
