On the west edge of LA, right by the ocean, walking distance from the 3rd Street Promenade, and on the first floor of the iconic clock tower building in Santa Monica Boulevard, you'll find one of the nicest bars in Los Angeles: The Misfit. Moody, gothic and elegant, this library bar is the perfect place to eat, drink and socialize.
The decor creates a unique ambiance. It's a library bar with a Beetlejuice vibe. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had an Edgar Allen Poe collection. There’s a long bench of stools that wrap around the bar and 2 levels of tables and booths welcoming groups of of all sizes. My friend and I met here after a comedy show. A big group of girls got in a fight here, and my husband’s company had their Christmas party here too. The Misfit attracts people from all walks of life.
It has delicious food and health-conscious dishes that are both comforting. The food is delicious. The drinks are refreshing. In their own words they are, “Creative comfort food, health-conscious fare, and handcrafted cocktails star at this hip gastropub.” I ordered the Mac and cheese. My friend ordered the Brussel sprouts. We split the dishes and both were full. I ordered a Moscow Mule that was one of the best. They have great dishes, great cocktails, and my personal favorite: A happy hour menu.
The ambiance is nice for ages and cultures 21+.
