Bookstore + Coffee shop: what a great combo! This is the perfect place to grab a new favorite book and immediately read it over a cup of coffee! I also suggest coming later in the day -- they also serve beer and wine -- for a date raving over your literary idols. It’s a soothing environment, with great vibes and that intoxicating coffee + book smell all around.
While a still relatively small place, it has lots of great books that you don't find on your average shop. It also features unique sections rich with material to justify the somewhat obscure genres: Los Angeles NonFiction History; Metaphysics/Occult; Gender Studies; plus other more common sections, but rich with material as well: Philosophy; Poetry; Film and Music.
If you venture deep into the back, there's also a large outdoor patio great for reading or studying. It’s one of my favorite local haunts because I feel so at ease around its walls, it allows me to discover great books and it’s such a great place to hang out for hours!
