Okay, I know it doesn't look like much from the outside, but when a friend insisted the food was the best Mediterranean fare around for a decent price I decided to give it a shot.
Al Wazir Chicken is brightly lit, clean, and has walls painted with a mural highlighting local Hollywood landmarks. And, the food IS good! Apparently the KTLA news folks think so too, since one employee mentioned that they stop by quite often. I order the chicken kabob plate, but my friend swears by the lamb and beef options. They also feature shawarma, salads, and a variety of sides such as hummus and baba ghanoush.
Located just down the block from the Pantages Theater and kitty corner to the Fonda Theater, it's close to some of Hollywood's main attractions. If you happen to be staying nearby, they deliver with a $15 minimum purchase.
Friendly and accommodating (they easily make changes to your order), I've only had good experiences here. Al Wazir Chicken is open till 23:00 and though the parking lot is small, I always manage to find a spot.
Happy eating!
