If you are looking for a classic LA restaurant with the possibility of a celebrity sighting, look no further than Dan Tana’s.
Located in West Hollywood, the venerable Dan Tana’s has been serving generous portions of classic, delicious, and hearty Italian food to locals since 1964.
When you first walk into Dan Tana’s, you cannot help but feel like you’re traveling back in time to old Hollywood. The restaurant, which is dark and intimate, features small red booths, waiters who are dressed in ties and red jackets, and wine bottles decoratively hanging from the ceilings.
Being right on the border of Beverly Hills, serving the locals means serving celebrities and the glitterati. They love Dan Tana’s and not without good reason. The food is amazing.
Even the simplest dishes, for example the garlic-y Caesar salad and the rich and creamy fettucine alfredo are excellent and worth ordering. Some of my favorite appetizers include their shrimp scampi in a delicious white wine sauce and their fried zucchini (perfect for table sharing). Their main courses, which are all served with sides of pasta, do not disappoint either. One main course I frequently order is the “Mace Neufeld” which is a USDA Prime ground sirloin served with porcini mushrooms in a wine sauce. Their “Dabne Coleman” is a USDA Prime New York Strip steak that will not disappoint any true meat lover.
For those looking for a potential celebrity sighting, a great Italian meal, or both, I recommend Dan Tana’s.
