In my mouth (sorry... eyes) Au Pain de Mary is definitely the best bakery & pastry shop in town! On weekends, people are lining up and wait sometimes more than 30 minutes to devour their delicious croissants and their succulent "Aachtchen" (some typical Luxembourgish pastry, similar to the french lunettes, but a lot tastier - sorry, but I have to say that:) ) Everything is homemade.
They also sell their own chocolate spread, the best one is the praliné spread that you have to taste on their baguette de tradition. My favorite pastry is only available around Carnival in February: a Berliner (german doughnut without hole) with a lot of their yummy pastry cream.
Pain de Mary doesn't only sell sweet stuff, but also very good sandwiches or quiches to go. You can walk to the English garden (only 500m away), a very nice public park, in J-G de Cicignon street that has an amazing new farm-themed playground, and you will find some picnic tables there. Enjoy!
