It's only 'Come à la Maison' if your house is phenomenally decorated and you have your own team of chefs at your disposal. Then, it might be 'just like home', but to me, Come à la Maison is a world apart. The only thing it has in common with my home is that I love being there and hate to leave.
The exterior of Come à la Maison gives nothing away. Entering it is like crawling into a Ford pick-up and discovering you're sitting behind the wheel of a Ferrari. This gigantic space - its warehouse size - houses different areas defined by mood and food. Primarily, this is authentic Italian cuisine, but one of the world's top 3 sushi masters plies his art here, and there is seafood and a rotisserie too, plus rooms for groups, wine-tasting, and sampling beers.
They say that we eat with our eyes as well as our mouths, and at Come à la Maison, both are in for a treat. The owner happens to be a gifted interior designer and it shows. Everywhere you look, your eyes will have something to feast on, from the funky light fixtures to the unusual chairs, and the food - all made fresh on the premises - will exceed your dreams. Not that I've tried everything. After trying the truffle pizza with buffalo mozzarella, I can't imagine ordering anything else. But I can shop for pasta, sauces, spices, and other fine ingredients to take back to my real 'maison', and so can you!
