You expect to see fountains, flower beds, statues, sprawling lawns and clusters of trees in a city park, but from now through 18 October, you'll discover much more in Luxembourg City's parks and green spaces!
In the 300-hectare Municipal Park, for example, you'll find an old boarded up hut. Peek through the boards and discover an old upright piano playing by itself! Not far from there, you can spot a very modern metal high-rise built not for people, but for pigeons, and a few steps from there, find a scarecrow's clothes discarded by a lakeside, as if the scarecrow abandoned his work post for a quick swim.
These are just a few of many surprises you can discover just in the city park - and there are other locations for the sprawling LUGA Luxembourg Urban Garden event too. In addition to things to see and hear, there are also things to experience and take part in, like poetry walks, guided tours of wild plants, Zumba dancing and even an olive-oil tasting.
Landscape and artistic designs, agricultural projects and living spaces are also part of this huge exhibition, staged in five locations in both Luxembourg City and in Ettelbruck, easily accessible by train.
Although it covers a lot of ground, both literally and figuratively, an interactive map makes it easy to navigate! Just type in the date, define your group (adult, family, etc.), and select your interests. Many options will pop up for you, quicker than dandelions in spring!
