Ernster library is a family business run by the Ernster family since 1889 – today they run 9 shops and have nearly 100 employees, and a huge success in Luxembourg, even in the times of Amazon. They already moved to an IT management system in 1988 (when I did not even know what a computer was) and they also sell their books via their website, but Ernster still works a lot on developing its shops, making them consumer-friendly with some cozy coffee corner, a place where kids can play and with a large choice of board games, educational games and a big offer of gift items, in addition to the thousands of books for all ages in Luxembourgish, French, German, English and even other languages.

I love to visit the Ernster bookshop in Cloche d’Or (shopping center), either alone or with my three kids, take some time to discover new books for myself or drink a coffee, while the kids are playing around and come find me again after 10 minutes to bring me the (way too many) books they chose in the lovely arranged kids department. The place is full of light – it’s inviting and people are always around to give some helpful advice. Of course, you will also find interesting books about Letzebuerg 🙂
