Imagine you’re on holiday in Malmö and the book you bought at an airport a while ago is now finished. You don’t need it anymore and you’re looking for something new to read. Well look no further! I have the solution to your conundrum. You don’t have to be stuck with nothing to read anymore.
There is a place like no other in Malmö. Once my friend told me about it, I just got on a bike and went to check it out. The principle is easy. You have a book you don’t need anymore and maybe you are on a lookout for something new, you simply go there and make the exchange.
It’s not a big thing but it’s very practical for all of us bookworms.
I am already preparing some books that I have read and don’t want to keep so that I exchange them for something new. The books are not only in Swedish, I have noticed a few ones in English and there is a section for children’s books as well. If you have a wish, there is a notebook for you to write down a title and the owners may be able to chase it down for you. That, of course, is more of a benefit to us locals.
I have heard about places like that in other cities and I find them fantastic. It’s all about sharing a passion for books with other human readers.
