""Inkonst" in Malmö in an old chocolate factory is a venue dedicated to contemporary culture, including techno and experimental music. Feels like Berlin..."

Located in Malmö's Möllan area in an old chocolate factory, Inkonst is a venue dedicated to contemporary culture. Their program consists of music, talks, performing arts and beyond.

Inkonst is the place to head in Malmö if you are into techno and experimental music.
Inkonst could be easily located somewhere in Berlin, which is known to be the hotspot for club culture in Europe, since the vibe is very similar. The club nights there are not only about music, but also a strong emphasis is put on visual aesthetics and light art. Therefore, Inkonst offers an overall art experience, or as they state on their website, Inkonst is “a place where it’s possible to step outside of yourself and experience something you never even thought possible.”

It is also a concert venue, and the stage is open to artists representing all genres. Check out their Facebook page for upcoming events.

Emporia – Not just a shopping center

"Emporia" in Malmö is a shopping mall, yes -- one of the biggest in Scandinavia, no less. But it's special for me for two reasons unrelated to shopping...

Of the 195 nationalities listed by the U.N., 184 are represented in Malmö. Nowhere is this more visible than in the city district “Möllevången”...

Gamla Staden – Historic city district

"Gamla Staden" in Malmö is the city's old town & creates a beautiful, stark contrast with its modern parts. Some of the oldest buildings are 700 years old.

"Kranplatsen", being at the end of a wharf, offers 300-degree water views. It's a fantastic place to watch boats coming & going from Malmö's harbor...

Lakrits Roten – A liquorice lover's paradise

I'm not crazy about liquorice, but if there was ever a place that could convert me, "Lakrits Roten" in central Malmö would be it. Join the dark side!
