Sparrow Montreal

Warm atmosphere from another time

About me Very curious about new places, ideas and trends. I enjoy meeting new people, share thoughts and culture. I think I can say ‘fascinated about differences’. Although this place has been around since 2009, I've been a regular visitor for over a year only. And what a place!

The decor enchants me, delights me, everything pleases me greatly. Words fail me to describe the effect it has on me. Looks like another time, in another city, a little out-of-time. The wallpaper, the wooden furniture, the glossy black bar, everything not to mention the beautiful bathroom, charm me.

I often stop by in the late afternoon for a drink with friends and I end up tempted by the menu. I very much enjoy their butter chicken.

I finally tasted their famous brunch - there's always a line of trendy hipsters on weekends and as it's not possible to book, I often had to turn around. At last! I chose a classic: eggs benedict. Wow! It was served with a side of delicate homemade tater tots, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I accompanied the dish with a delicious creamy café au lait.

However, you need to be hungry because the plate is well stocked.

I work as a web project manager for Radio-Canada and I'm pretty stimulated by the new projects I work on. Travels inspire me a lot. I’ve visited a few cities in Europe, lived for half a year in Copenhagen, and practiced my Spanish several times on my trips in Central America. Why Montreal? Born in the suburbs of Montreal, I moved to the city in 1995. Since then, I’ve been rediscovering it ...

Saint Sushi Bar

Wanna eat some Marvin Gaye sushi?

"Saint Sushi Bar" in Montreal is not a traditional Japanese sushi restaurant - rather, its focus is on playful, hiphop, 'gangsta' reinterpretations.

Watch out for the ostriches!

"Bílý Kůň" Montreal is my favorite friendly local bar .The curiosity? The 'taxidermy chic' effect! The walls are adorned with heads of stuffed ostriches

Kouign Amann

Did you say 'butter'?

"Kouign Amann" Montreal Chocolate is a charming little outdated and colorful decor bakery, and we don't want it to change! Try their raspberry Danish.
