Even though New York City is miles away from any farm, it is still possible to get organic, market-fresh food. Foragers Table is one such farm-to-table destination. Part of a company that maintains a Hudson Valley farm and nearby local produce store (Foragers Market), Foragers Table has a lot to offer.
Its extensive menu features items like chilled golden beet borscht, grilled za'atar vegetables, and pan-roasted Long Island duck breast. The farm supplies the eggs, herbs, and vegetables for the restaurant. The small but spacious interior is filled with light and windows, creating a chic and open environment to enjoy a meal.
I love the creativity of the menu and the presentation of the food. Every dish is a work of art, carefully crafted from the labor of love on the farm up until the finishing touches on the plate.
The best part is being able to browse Foragers Market (which adjoins the restaurant), afterward to stock up on artisanal snacks, wine, and other delectable treats.
